What is Roots & Revival?

The Roots & Revival Festival returns for its second year, celebrating our community’s rich heritage, agriculture, arts, and culture. Featuring live music, art galleries, farm tours, family friendly activities and a vibrant vendor market, it’s a weekend to honor our roots and support local talent. Join us in celebrating connection and community!

When & where is Roots & Revival?

This year’s festival will be held in Port Glasgow from July 10th to the 12th with the main festival grounds located outdoors at the Port Glasgow Yacht Club.

Is there parking onsite?

Free parking is available with limited space on site and street parking surrounding the festival grounds.

Is the festival free?

Roots & Revival festival is free for all ages to enter. Food, Drinks & Products are available for purchase.

Do I need to bring cash?

It is recommended to bring cash. Not all vendors will accept interact or credit.

Are there ATM’s available?

There is no ATM on site. We recommend bringing cash, as some vendors may not accept debit or credit. An RBC branch with an ATM is located in Rodney, just about 10 minutes away.

Will there be alcohol at the festival? What about the new amendment to the Liquor Licence and Control Act?

Yes, alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase inside the festival grounds. While recent changes to the Liquor Licence and Control Act may allow BYOB at some events, we’ve chosen to continue with our traditional setup to help support the local vendors and small businesses that make our festival possible. Because of this, outside food and beverages, including alcohol, are not permitted inside the festival grounds.

Is the festival pet friendly?

Yes, the festival welcomes your friendly, well-behaved furry family members!

Are service animals allowed?

Service animals are 100% allowed.

Are there bathrooms or water stations around the festival?

Yes, portable washrooms will be available around the festival grounds. Please refer to our map for the detailed location.

Is the festival wheel chair accessible?

Yes, the festival will be wheel chair accessible in most areas. However, the parking area on the Port Glasgow beachside has a gravel lot.

Are strollers allowed at the festival?

Yes strollers are allowed.

Is smoking, vaping or cannabis allowed? Are there designated areas?

There will be designated smoking areas for any type of smoking, please refer to our festival map for location.

Festival Musician Rotation Policy

Purpose:
The purpose of this policy is to encourage variety in festival programming, provide opportunities for new and emerging performers, maintain audience interest, and support a diverse entertainment experience for attendees.

Policy Statement:
Musicians, bands, or performing acts who are selected to perform at the festival may not be booked for more than two (2) consecutive festival years.

After performing for two consecutive years, the musician, band, or act must observe a minimum one-year break before becoming eligible for consideration again.

Exceptions:
The Festival Committee reserves the right to make exceptions to this policy under special circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • Headline performers required to meet programming needs
  • Significant community or commemorative events
  • Artist substitutions due to cancellations
  • Limited availability of performers within a specific genre or category
  • Special committee-approved circumstances deemed beneficial to the festival

Any exception shall require approval by the Festival Committee and be documented in meeting minutes.

Review:
This policy shall be reviewed periodically by the Festival Committee to ensure it continues to meet the festival’s goals and objectives.
